Twitter: Recommendation: This router in my opinion is a very good router and for all of the tests that I have put it through, it has been satisfying for the most part. The performance of the router is very solid and reaches fairly long distances even when it has to go through different doors, walls and floors. I did tend to loose Wi-Fi coverage and speed as I ventured down into lower levels of the house, especially the basement and recreation room. I still managed to receive Wi-Fi coverage even when the router was on one side of the house and I was at the other. The home I am testing in is about 5,640 square feet in size. If you have a house around that measurement, I would opt for something a bit better but even then this router can still reach all areas. All in all, I recommend this router for the average size house or smaller but for a bigger house (like the one mentioned above). I recommend something a bit better but this router will reach everywhere in a larger home but you will experience some loss in coverage and speed. When it comes to setting up a wireless network in homes or offices, one must really pick the right device for the job. In specific cases, you'll probably need to get a Dual-Band router for a much more effective coverage and connection stability -- which brings us to the Cisco Linksys E2500. It is an advanced router that is part of the well-known networking company's newest E-series line. Fitting in at exactly the middle of the pack of 5 (E1200, E1500, E2500, E3200, & E4200), the E2500 is the cheapest option for consumers upgrading to a Dual-Band Wireless N router. In cases where Single-Band wireless just won't cut it, upgrading to the E2500 might just be the right one for the job. This is the unboxing of a new wireless Cisco Linksys Router E-2500. It's a Dual Band N, with 4 Fast Ethernet Ports and stated fast speed +300 Mbps. Configured this on a Windows 8 Laptop, it doesn't state that on the box just up to Windows 7 but it works. Very easy plug and play just need to setup your own Userid and Password for security access. Did have to power off my Cable Modem and power it back up to recognize this new router through the internet. Noticeable faster improvement over my older Cisco Linksys router which is +200 Mbps, very easy to install total about 15 minutes!
